They are cheap, even if strong, filtering cells with medium gravimetric efficiency, composed of a self-extinguishing (F1 class according to DIN 53438) synthetic filtering media, kept by two zinc-plated wire nets and boxed into a galvanized steel frame.

Applications

The filter mats normally used make them suitable to retain coarse dust particles (PM10).
They are used for fan-coil, air treatment units, warm air generators, ventilation equipment of machines and as prefilters to filters having higher performances (like LOM-BAG pockets filters, V-cell filters or activated carbon filters).

Features

The CK type cells are normally supplied with filtering mats with efficiencies ISO Coarse 35% and ISO Coarse 50% according to EN ISO 16890 (classes G2 and G3 according to EN 779:2012); the CS cells, characterized by a more robust structure, are instead produced with filtering mats with efficiency ISO Coarse 60% (class G4 according to EN 779:2012).
For the standard sizes available, the actual flow rates and their initial pressure drops are:

Dimensions [mm] Capacity [m3/h] Pressure drop [Pa] Capacity [m3/h] Pressure drop [Pa]
ISO Coarse ISO Coarse
35% 50% 60% 35% 50% 60%
400 x 500 630 10 15 25 950 15 25 40
400 x 625 800 1200
500 x 500 800 1200
500 x 625 1010 1520
595 x 595 1140 1710
287 x 595 520 780

The limit working temperature is of 90°C approx.
These filtering cells can be supplied with different dimensions and thicknesses from the standard above ones, and with mattresses having different composition (glass fibres, polyurethane foam, etc.) and/or performances.

Installation & service

The CK and CS filters can be installed into C-shaped guides or into holding frames at frontal access. Replace or regenerate the cells once having reached a resistance of 200 Pa. Clean by shaking (in case of rough and dry dust) or by counter current air or by warm water and cleaning agent.
